The problems arose where two clear resins were being blended at the press. Switching from two blended resins to a single material delivered several key benefits to the manufacturer, including:

Made from polyphenylsulfone (PPSU) resin, Transcend Premier Healthcare Colorants, including pre-colored solutions, can withstand up to 1,000 autoclave cycles and high heat sterilization up to 150C. These resins also maintain dimensional stability while providing chemical resistance against the effects of harsh cleaning agents.   Additional iterations are in development for other high-performance resins, including polyethersulfone (PES) and polysulfone (PSU).  

Initially launched at the K Show in October 2022, Maxxam™ BIO bio-based polyolefins are formulated with both bio-based resin and/or filler from natural sources such as olive seed powder. They can be based on either prime or bio-based resin. Incorporating a bio-based resin with a natural filler further enhances sustainability and reduces product carbon footprint compared to fossil feedstock alternatives.

The new material offers excellent bonding to polycarbonate, nylon and other polymers.
