HOW GLS TPEs MAKE THE DIFFERENCE IN AUTOMOTIVE FASTENERS AND CLIPS
• Low compression set – coupled with good
stress relaxation, our automotive TPEs are
designed to maintain a good seal over time and
reduce noise generated by vibration
• High temperature performance – Avient
automotive TPEs provide good sealing
performance in temperatures up to
100°C/212°F
• Bonding performance - strong chemical bond
to polypropylene, polyethylene,
and polyamide
• Process flexibility - grades can be both
injection molded and extruded
• Easy to color - can be colored at the machine
• Reduced production steps - some grades do
not require pre-drying
• Low VOC/FOG - OnFlex HT™ has been externally
tested to VDA 278 and is proven to help satisfy
vehicle interior air quality (VIAQ) regulatory
requirements
• Single source supply – we can streamline your
supply chain with the ability to provide polymer
colorants, engineered thermoplastics, and
thermoplastic elastomers from a single source
• Global support - we provide production,
technical, and commercial support in locations
convenient to your operations, including North
America, Europe, and Asia

Hot sprue bushings and extended nozzles may also be used with GLS TPEs.
Molding Soft TPEs (≤ 20 Shore A)
Soft GLS TPEs have very low viscosity (high flow); thus they require minimal
injection pressure.
Increase the gate size.

There are several GLS products in the 40 Shore A Hardness range that
have varying COFs.
There are several GLS™ products in the 40 Shore A Hardness range that
have varying COFs.
For GLS materials with hardnesses over
50-90 Shore A, a sprue puller with a
Z-type may be used to pull the sprue out.

With its 40 Shore A hardness, it also offers a low compression set to protect sensitive audio components from water and dust.
The second grade, with 80 Shore A hardness, enhances speaker skin design with a silky feel, excellent colorability and outstanding resistance to abrasion and environmental effects.
The popularity of wireless speakers has exploded, giving smartphone and tablet users the freedom to listen to and share music anywhere they choose,” said Michelle Hearn, global marketing director, GLS™ Thermoplastic Elastomers at PolyOne.

Available in two Shore A hardnesses, Versaflex HC grades can also be customized to achieve desired haptic qualities.
With a Shore A hardness of 48, Versaflex HC 1348 is slightly softer than Versaflex HC 1365, which has a durometer of 65A and a matte finish.
